Expert Meeting "New Materials" 20.3.2012

"New Materials" is the theme of the second expert meeting in a series of events. This Series has started in September 2011 at the University of Magdeburg and is now continued at Martin Luther University Halle.

The focus of the expert meeting on the Weinberg Campus in Halle are
micro-and nano-structured materials, which form a core area of research at the Faculty of Science II and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Materials Science at the MLU and the Fraunhofer institutions and the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics. Micro-and nano-structured materials keep on advancing into industrial products.
To meet the challenges of the industrial use of those materials, interdisciplinary and close contacts between science and economy should be enhanced in the future.

The events aim is to establish contacts between research institutions and companies working on similar issues or which are planning to do so. In addition to the potential advantages of scientific collaboration, the technical equipment of the institutes and their potential uses to commercial enterprises are presented. The lectures will be therefore framed by a poster session and a program of visits to laboratories.
